TEC Electric Acquisition

Kempston Controls acquires TEC Electric in Ireland

Kempston Controls is pleased to announce the acquisition of TEC Electric, the Irish electrical distributor, based in Clondalkin, Dublin. The deal, which was completed on the 28th of February 2020 will give Kempston Controls a base in the all-important EU market to run alongside its operations in the UK and the Middle East.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]With it being Halloween, we were struck by a Ghost Hunting project that we recently read about that has taken place at Motley County Jail, in Matador, Texas.

A case study created by Lance Brooks , founder of Texas Spirit Seekers, used advanced data logging technology from Lascar Electronics to take his hobby of ghost hunting to the next level.

Common theories in ghost hunting or the search for paranormal activity suggest that there will be change in the temperature of a room or environment if any ghostly being or activity is present. This is commonly known as a cold spot. By using the Lascar EL-USB-2 data logger Lance was able to keep a steady log of the temperatures within the jail during the investigation.

Using the Lascar EL-USB-2 Lance recorded not only temperature but also humidity and set the data logger to capture readings every 10 seconds over a 10-hour period. This time, the Lascar data logger proclaimed the jail all clear as they saw no significant fluctuations in temperature and helped scientifically prove the lack of paranormal activity.

Data loggers? How do they work?

A data logger is an electronic device that will record data either constantly or at set intervals over a predetermined period of time. It does this via a built-in sensor or using external instruments. Data Loggers tend to be battery powered allowing them to be used in areas where there may not be a constant supply of electricity, making them ideal for transporting food, vaccines or anything similar which will need to be kept at constant temperature.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/oQlJB1R_7mQ” el_aspect=”235″ align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As a data logger can record information over an extended time period they provide a far more accurate way to monitor temperature and humidity etc. rather than manually taking readings. They can be left for a 24 hour period to collect data and you can then easily upload the gathered information to a computer for evaluation.
