Available in a range of housing dimensions with various depths, designed for easy installation and handling with features such as dedicated pry points for opening and foamed gasket for IP66 and protection of the sealing edge. With an expanded operating temperature range down to ­-60 °C, the GR enclosure series is a cost-effective choice for many installations that would otherwise require stainless steel enclosures. Suitable for installation in Zone 1, 2, 21 and 22, Class I,II division 2, Class I Zone 1 and Class II Zone 22. Ex eb, Ex ia and Ex tb certified.


Terminal and Junction Boxes in Stainless Steel – SR Series

Designed for use in hazardous and harsh environments, the stainless-steel terminal boxes and junction boxes from the SR enclosure series are a benchmark in flexibility. Their modular design allows the integration of accessories, such as flange plates, hinges, mounting brackets and lid security. These junction boxes are suitable for wall mounting and can be screwed in directly using 90° rotatable mounting brackets or rivet nuts. Suitable for installation in Zone 1, 2, 21, 22. Intrinsically Safe Isolation Barriers – From Pepperl + Fuchs

Intrinsically Safe Isolation Barriers limit the energy that is supplied to a circuit and protect hazardous areas from excess energy. By limiting energy to a safe level, intrinsically safe circuits prevent the ignition of potentially explosive atmospheres. This simplifies the maintenance and repair of Ex i circuits.

There are 2 types of classifications for intrinsically safe equipment, Ex ia is designed to be safe with 2 independent faults and can be used in Zone 0.  Ex ib has a lower level of integrity and cannot be used for Zone 0 and the circuit design contains fewer zener diodes which is suitable for use in Zones 1 or 2.

Isolated Barriers

Isolated Barriers

In addition to their explosion protection function, Isolation Barriers offer galvanic isolation to protect measurement and control circuits from signal distortion and dangerous surges. These interface modules also convert, standardise and split measurement and control signals.

Intrinsically Safe Isolation Barriers are the core of Pepperl+Fuchs product portfolio, with the widest selection of products for the protection of electrical signals located in hazardous areas. These intrinsic safety modules combine the energy limiting features of a zener barrier with galvanic isolation.

The K-System

Found in a wide range of applications these Intrinsic Safety Isolation Barriers are flexible DIN rail mounted modules. The K-System barriers connect easily with P+F Power Rail assemblies on the DIN rail, using the Power Rail reduces the wiring by energising the modules mounted on to the DIN rail.

The H-System

The H-System Intrinsically Safe Isolation Barriers are mounted on termination boards and are ideal for applications requiring tight Distribution Control System (DCS) or system integration.

Zener Isolated Barriers prevent the transmission of excessively high energy levels from the non-explosion hazardous area to the hazardous area. These interface modules are the perfect choice when galvanic isolation is not needed or provided.

 

Zener Barriers – Cost Saving and Easy Mounting Ex-Protection

Zener Barriers provide cost saving Ex-protection for various applications in process automation systems. The amount of energy transferred to the hazardous location is limited to a safe level incapable of igniting an explosive atmosphere.

Pepperl+ Fuchs Z-system Zener Barriers are directly mounted on a 35 mm DIN-Rail and with additional accessories grounding can be done directly on to the DIN mounting rail.

  • Fast mounting on DIN-rail
  • Grounding directly connected with DIN-rail
  • Separation of field-loop by removing the fuse

Z-system Zener Barriers are available with high-density with up to 2 channels and have a width of 12.5 mm. Variants with field replaceable fuses provide a convenient means of disconnecting or open-circuiting the instrument loop without interfering with the wiring, making commissioning and maintenance operations much easier.

Capacitive Sensors, Helping you find your level

The LevelMaster Capactive Sensor options from Rechner, which come complete with the widely used G½” thread, have been specially designed to cater for smooth and sticky media making them perfect for a huge range of level control situations in the pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries

The original LevelMaster Sensor range, which set new standards for the detection of sticky or highly conductive media, have now been complimented by a low dielectric version for dry and powdered products. Capable and dependable, these level sensors also feature Rechner’s ATEX All-In-One direct PNP connection thus eliminating a costly interface barrier typically needed in such installations.

The dielectric constant, DK or Ɛr, is the permittivity of a detected product which is the parameter measured by Capacitive Sensors. The higher the dielectric constant of the material, the easier it is to detect.

Reliable Solutions

One sensor cannot cover all applications and so there are two highly-reliable solutions. One uses high frequencies for the higher DK applications and a second, low-frequency option for very low DK media detection.

capacitive sensorThe LevelMaster-KS-801 series offers the optimum level control of conductive and/or sticky products with high a DK, such as fruit purées, syrup, sauces, vinegar-based preparations and conductive egg-based products such as batter and mayonnaise. These sensors are also excellent for all dairy applications including yogurt level control. For bulk materials with a lower DK, such as sugar, coffee, flour or maize meal, there’s the LevelMaster-KAS-80 range of ATEX certified sensors which can detect products with a dielectric of Ɛr 1.1.

LevelMaster Sensors are always set with a ‘Full’ configuration. A media optimisation facility then enables them to ignore any product build-up which has stuck onto the sensor face, so a wide range of media can be detected with just one setting.

Simple Set-Up

Set-up couldn’t be easier, once installed, sensor adjustment is done via an Easy Teach by Wire (ETW) facility, no PC or additional programming interface devices are required making initialisation straight forward and error-free whether at the sensor or the control panel.

The LevelMaster sensing tip is of an FDA-approved material plus it has traceability to EC 1935/2004. The build material of the Capacitive Sensors have a high-chemical resistance and the surface quality is also in accordance with the needs of the Pharmaceutical and Food Processing Industries, e.g. a roughness depth < 0.8 µm which guarantees excellent cleanability for CIP & SIP regimes.

As standard, each Level Sensors includes the Rechner Quatro-Protect facility, which has the highest protection against electrical noise, spikes and transients delivering the best safeguard available from all interference. For easier installation G½” welding adaptors as well as other process connections such as Tri-Clamp or Varivent adaptors are available.
