So, who are the Creating Tomorrow College? The Creating Tomorrow College are a team of professionals whose purpose is to advance the opportunity of young adults (aged 16-25) with SEND, and help them make the transition into sustainable employment, volunteering, or entrepreneurial opportunities. As well as developing essential social and emotional skills to help them manage in an ever-changing world.
How do they do it?
With their extensive knowledge and professionalism, the staff at the Creating Tomorrow College have developed an incredible plan to achieve their purpose. From teaching their students the skills of writing a CV to following a curriculum that develops personal and daily living skills they really do have it all covered!

- Discrete accessible provision providing an individual, personalised program focusing on independence and employment
- Dedicated employer engagement and placement officers
- Job coaches, providing work placement support
- Vocational Options – including Grounds Maintenance, Hospitality & Catering, Horticulture, Warehousing & Distribution, Health & Beauty, Agriculture and more
- Accredited learning at various levels
- Enrichment activities to support progression and independence
- Curriculums to develop personal and daily living skills
Where do Kempston Controls come in?
Not only are the steps listed above key to the success of their young adults, but Creating Tomorrow College also rely on businesses to play their part, this where we (Kempston Controls) and other businesses such as: Volvo, GXO, Travis Perkins, Greene King get involved.
By offering work experience and potential internships we have been able to offer the young adults of the Creating Tomorrow College an opportunity to work in our Distribution Centre. Here they undertook jobs like picking and packing and those who have been there already were really good and loved working in the team!
Valuable Work Experience
We are so honoured as a company that we were able to offer them this opportunity. Not only did we provide them with valuable work experience, but we also hosted practical sessions where the students had a chance to learn how our products function. For example, seeing how a contactor holding circuit works alongside learning how to operate a variety of sensors including ultrasonic, photoelectric, magnetic, and inductive sensors.
Kempston Controls could not be prouder to work alongside the Creating Tomorrow College and we hope to continue our partnership long into the future! We would also like to give a special mention to our warehouse staff for all their continued hard work and support for taking this new opportunity in their stride and offering their support to the young adults working with them.
